HITEMP 600LT (SYNTHETIC)
High quality synthetic heat transfer fluids , produced from alkyl Benzene and contain anti-oxidation additives, which provide excellent thermal stability and long service life.
What is HITEMP 600 LT
HITEMP 600 LT is a synthetic-grade heat transfer fluid formulated from alkyl benzene derivatives with anti-oxidation additives. It offers high thermal stability and a very long service life.
It is designed for non-pressurized or low-pressure indirect heating systems operating below 300°C, and is recommended for liquid phase operation only.
Key features
- High thermal and oxidation stability, reducing fouling caused by fluid degradation
- Service life of 6 to 10 years, longer than mineral grade fluids
- Low volatility, high flash point and good low-temperature flow characteristics
- High film coefficient, improving heat transfer efficiency
- Good cleaning properties
- Non-corrosive and non-toxic

Replacing your current heat transfer fluid
If you currently use a synthetic heat transfer oil
If your system already runs on a synthetic alkyl benzene heat transfer oil, switching brand is not a concern. HITEMP 600 LT uses the same base chemistry, so it can be topped up into your existing synthetic alkyl benzene fluid, for example Therminol 55.
If you currently use a mineral heat transfer oil
HITEMP 600 LT can replace mineral heat transfer oils directly and can be mixed with them. Mineral fluids commonly found in these systems include Shell Heat Transfer S2, Caltex Texatherm 32, Mobil Therm 605 and Total Seriola 32.
As a synthetic grade, HITEMP 600 LT gives a longer service life than mineral fluids and reduces fouling caused by fluid degradation.
We recommend consulting our technical team to assess your system before changing or topping up.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change the whole system to switch to PTT?
No. You can top up your existing system first, supported by the compatibility test results.
I use a different synthetic heat transfer oil. Can I switch to HITEMP 600 LT directly?
Yes. If your system runs on a synthetic alkyl benzene oil such as Therminol 55, HITEMP 600 LT uses the same base chemistry, so it can be topped up into your existing system.
How does HITEMP 600 LT differ from HITEMP 700 LT?
Both are Alkyl Benzene synthetic oils from PTT.
HITEMP 700LT is a premium synthetic grade with better stability and heat transfer than HITEMP 600 LT, and a longer service life.
How does it differ from HITEMP 500?
HITEMP 500 is a mineral grade at approximately 30 to 32 cSt at 40°C, with a lower maximum operating temperature. HITEMP 600 LT is synthetic and gives a longer service life.
Can it be used in steam or vapour phase systems?
No. This product is recommended for liquid phase operation in closed systems only.
